The organisation

UWT GmbH was originally founded as a family enterprise by Peter and Gerda Schropp in Kempten, Germany. The company began in the family cellar and already here, the aim was to provide good quality products. No one could then foresee that this small family business would grow into a world leader in the production of level measurement instrumentation.

Through consistent quality, reliability and a holistic customer orientation, UWT has achieved an excellent name with planners, producers and operators of plants and machines in numerous branches.

The increasing international direction of UWT ensures that its good reputation continues to grow in other countries. The arrival of Uwe Niekrawietz, as second director, alongside founder Peter Schropp accelerated the successful entry into new markets in all continents of the globe. The increasing market share ensures a constant company growth and subsequent staff increase. An extra production plant in Malta and sales subsidiaries in the growth area Asia as well as in the US and Great Britain, mean that we can meet our customer’s requirements with even more flexibility.

In order to maintain product quality, the production and office areas are enlarged step by step to accommodate the necessary place requirements. The solid trust of customers worldwide will allow UWT GmbH to keep growing solidly in the future.

A solid organisation philosophy is central to our management decisions. High product quality is a must and is documented in our QM systems. UWT is ISO 9001:2008 (DQS/IQNet) certified and is continually increasing its product certification such as Atex, FM, CSA, especially with regard to the international market.
