Our customer maufactures high-quality packaging solutions and therefore requires a level indicator located in a pre-bin. The indicator is responsible for a sufficient supply of the extruder with PP-regranulate. A reliable and long-lasting level indicator is therefore highly requested. The regranulate has a low DK-value of 1,7.

Our Solution

Our RFnivo of the series RF3100 assures safe triggering of material need. The sensor has a integrated automatic calibration and makes the setup very easy. Its high sensitivity of 0,5pF allows  a very reliable function also the probe is quite compact and short. It can measure a DK of min. 1,5. Due to its high quality, the level switch will undoubtly work for a very long time without further calibration.

The challenge

An international operating synthetics manufacturer required a reliable visualisation system that accurately displays the material content of two silo batteries in real time with a high level of operational reliability. The measurement was requested to operate fully automatic. Overfill protection for the silos using level limit switches was also a stipulated requirement.

Our solution

The Challenge

Our customer, a window frame producer required to monitor the fill level of plastic powder in numerous extrusion pre-holding vessels. It was important that the measuring technology reliably functioned in a very dusty environment. The application for a full end empty detection should be solved. The powder has a low DK-value of less than 2,0 and a density of about 700g/l.

Our Solution

The UWT rotating paddle detector ROTONIVO RN6000 series fulfills these requirements. This is made possible through the RN 6000´s high quality allowing exact measurement customised to the density of the bulk goods and the optimal sealing against dust. The Challenge

A producer of window frames required a backflowswitch to monitor the material flow in numerous extrusion pipes. It was important that the measuring technology reliably functioned in a very dusty environment with a low DK-value. If the backflowswitch would not detect the product, the crew conveyor could block and be damaged.

Our Solution

UWT´s vibrating fork VIBRANIVO VN2000 meets these measurement requirements. It is mounted in an oblique angle between the screw conveyor and the pipe to the pre-hopper of the extruder. With a sensitivity of 20g/l it measures with a high safety this PVC powder independend of the low DK-value.

The Challenge

Our customer required to monitor the level of textile fibres to be processed in his flocking machines. Level measurement was required in small supply containers and also in containers collecting the waste material after the processing. The challenge was to provide reliable measurement of the extremely light and electro statically charged material.

Our Solution

The UWT rotating paddle detector ROTONIVO RN3001 and the vibrating fork VIBRANIVO VN2020 series fulfill these requirements. The fully sealed RN3000 and the highly sensitive VN2000 (from 5 g/l) ensure exact customised measurement. The Challenge

Our customer is the greatest producer of building elements based on PVC in Russia. He requested a reliable and cost-effective solution for level control and limit control in his storage silos containing plastic components during the filling process. The system should support the automatisation of the material disposition for the storage silos.

Our Solution

For the level control of the silos containing PVC granular the electromechanical sensor Nivobob NB3100 was chosen. It was important to have an easy commissioning and a reliable system The Nivobob works perfect in plastic granulars and also powders, because it is independent from the dielectric constant of the solid and other bad conditions like dust, sticky material or high humidity. The UWT Nivobob solved the problems, the customer had with contactless sensors and guarantees now the correct function of the plant. The Challenge

Our customer is a worldwide supplier for cables and conduit systems and searched for a reliable level control in storage silos. It should be used in PVC- and chalk powder as well as PVC granulate. Due to the material attributes the atmosphere was quite dusty and rough in the 16m high silos.

Our Solution

With the sensors NIVOBOB NB3200 and NB3100 UWT Level Control could offer the customer an efficient solution. For the less dusty applications in granulates, the cable variant NB3100 of the electromechanical solder system was the perfect system. For the usage in powder the tape version NB3200 with integrated tape cleaner is the best solution. The tape cleaner prevents contamination of the mechanics compartment and guarantees a high functional reliability over the life cycle of the devices.

The Challenge

A worldwide renowned toys supplier requested a complete level control system at his plant in Malta. The granulates will be delivered in bigbags and filled into the silos by a pressure conveying system. The filling needed to be controlled with a reliable full detection and stopped by an acoustic signal. Above, also the level of material should be monitored during the filling process. The company searched for a complete solution with a visualization system to be accessible via Ethernet from every connected PC. The whole installation and set-up should to be done by UWT.

The Challenge

Our customer designs and produces plastic packaging solutions for various markets like the automisation industry, industry products, medical products, food, plants and flowers as well as the building sector. He has a number of applications in textil silos, where EPS and EPP balls are stored. The lightness of the material, the densitiy is lower than 30g/l, and thus a low dielectric constant, about 1,2, are the main challenges within this application. The limit sensors should avoid overfilling and give a signal for demand or when the silo is empty.

Our Solution

With the rotating paddle switch ROTONIVO RN3000 UWT solved the full and empty detection. The sensor has been equipped with a very sensitive spring and a big gum paddle in order to measure the extremly light EPS balls. The sensitivity of the UWT sensors starts from 15 g/l.

The Challenge

For a manufacturer of plastic parts a reliable overfilling protection and a content measurement system for storage silos was required. The solid is HDPE-, LDPE-, PP-, PET- granular. The silos are in standard aluminum with 3m diameter and a height of about 15m. The applications are in atmospheric conditions, clean and without special requirements to the sensors. The only challenge could be the low DK-value.

At a manufacturer of foamed moldings for various industries a very high sensitivity for the level limit sensors was required, to detect the very light EPS and EPP balls. The task was to solve a full-, demand- and empty detection with high reliability. The storage silos are textil silos. The sensors are adapted with flanges. The density is lower than 20g/l and the DK-value lower than 1,5.

 

 

 

Our Solution

With the rotating paddle switch Rotonivo RN3001 this 3 applications are solved. The sensitivity starts from 15g/l with a rubber vane size of 98x250mm and a density setting at the electronic to "light". The Challenge

A manufacturer of window frames has applications for level sensors in high silos to measure dry blend PVC powder. The challenge at this product is the low DK-value of about 1,5 and the high dusty atmosphere and tall, narrow size of the silos. The diameter is between 2,5m and 3m. The heigth can be more than 20m.

Our Solution

The solution for the full detection is the dust sealed paddle switch Rotonivo 3002. In this version it has a sensitivity of 100g/l. That is high enough for the Dry Blend powder with a density of about 600g/l. The RN3002 works irrespective of the Dk-value and is protected against the very dusty environment by a shaft-sealing.

The content level measurement is performed by a Nivobob 3200. This electromechanic tape system has a tape cleaner implemented. This feature keeps the mechanical parts clean in the housing and affects a long life of the sensor. Also the NB3200 works irrespective of the DK-value.

The Challenge

A manufacturer of foamed moldings for various industries requires a level sensor for very light EPP balls and an evaluation system like a touch panel with visualization software. The EPP balls have a density of less than 30g/l and a DK-value of less than 1,5. The choice of level sensors is very limited.

Our Solution

The solution is an electromechanic level sensor Nivobob 3100 with a light feel weight of 1000g and with parachute. This feelweight can measure a density of >20g/l, independent of the DK-value. Very reliable with enough accuracy. The evaluation is done with a NT4600 7" touchpanel and a userfriendly visualization software. It is connected to the modbus RTU net of the Nivobobs. The Challenge

A German manufacturer of food packaging stores its plastic granules in a few double chamber silos. The challenge in this application is to measure the lower chamber through a long tube leading from the silo through the upper chamber. A non-contact sensor such as ultrasound or radar does not work reliably because the long tube attenuates the reflected signal or even leads to incorrect measurements by wrong echos.

A full and low-level signal by limit switches has also to be integrated into the control system.

Our Solution

The upper as well as the lower silo chamber can be measured with the electromechanical system Nivobob NB3100. Both can be installed on the silo in standard flanges or 1.5 "thread sockets. Simple sensor installation and sensor commissioning was possible in this double chamber silo. The sensor weight passes through the tube into the lower chamber until it has contact with the plastic granulate and moves back to the upper end position. The setting of the measuring range can be made in the menu of the Nivobob.

The silo filling alarm is carried out by a Rotonivo RN3002 with a flexibly configurable extension, and a Rotonivo RN3004 with a protective tube and lateral installation is used for the empty message. This sensor can withstand high mechanical product loads and can be installed without a protective canopy.

The Challenge

A leading food packaging company was looking for a permanently reliable continuous level measurement system for several storage silos where PP, PS and PET granules are stored. The ultrasonic sensors, they already used, had sometimes outliers in the display or a permanently wrong signal by wrong echosignals. Temperature fluctuations and poor weld seams at the silo can adversely affect the ultrasonic measurement in this application.

Our Solution

The ultrasonic sensors could be replaced by electromechanical sensor NB3100. These operate reliably regardless of temperature fluctuations and other difficult conditions in the silo. The low DK value of plastic granules also does not influence this mechanical measurement. The signal output, the power supply and the mechanical installation could be adjusted and converted in the system. Thus the desire for a reliable measurement was finally fulfilled. The NB3100 is used in all plastic granules.

The Challenge

A world-leading manufacturer of plastic food packaging and foils searched for its storage silos for various plastic granules, which provides the material descriptors with all necessary information on the material stock quickly, up-to-date and reliably. The level sensor system should be maintenance-free and offer the plant operator the highest security. That is, that both silo overfillings are avoided as well as plant standstills due to material shortages.

Our Solution

Electromechanical leadsystems NB3100 are used as fill level sensors in all silos. The silo alarm full will be monitored by rotating paddel switches. Both sensors are maintenance-free, very durable and ideal for use in plastic granules. They are directly integrated into the Modbus network of the visualization hardware on the silos. This means that all fill level data can be queried up-to-date and quickly in the software. The NT3500 visualization works on a Wago web controller and is license-free and password-protected by all Ethernet computers. The complete system is modular and can be extended as required. That is, not only sensors with Modbus RTU interface, but also analog sensors with 4-20mA, digital signals or Ethernet interface can be connected.

The Challenge

A supplier to the automotive industry modernized its silo plant for plastic granules. He also wanted to invest in a complete level monitoring system in order to automate his manual measurements in the future and to read the filling levels conveniently on the PC screen. It stores various granulates in a series of silos. These are filled by truck.

Our Solution

The silos were equipped with electromechanical lead systems NB4100. Partially, there were no process connections on the inclined silo roofers. The specially designed adjustment flange for Nivobobs was used here. It could be screwed from the outside to the roof without welding necessary. In part, the sensors were adapted to the available connections. Capacitive sensors CN4030 and also rotary paddle detectors RN3002 are used as silo full sensors. A user-friendly and also favorable visualization was implemented with Nivotec 3500. Here, a web server is used, which allows all Ethernet PCs to use the visualization without license costs. In addition, this system can also be adjusted to specific customer requirements and wishes.

The Challenge

The biggest producer of ethylene in europe needs for silos, where PVC powder is stored, limit detectors to protect against overfilling and also to detect empty. PVC powder has a low dielectric constant, the density is about 700g/l. So specially the empty detectors should have a high mechanical stability. 

Our Solution

The application is solved with rotating paddle switches. The simple electromechanical switch has a stable stainless steel extension which keeps the mechanical forces from the product. It has enough sensitivity to detect the PVC powder and protect against overfilling. The sensor is dust sealed and works reliable in PVC powder for many years. The Challenge

A manufacturer of plastic packaging in the Czech Republic automated its level measurement in storage silos. It processes various plastics such as PVC powder, PE, PP and other granulates into canisters, bottles and other containers and wanted to install in the silos such sensors, which are universally applicable and does not entail any maintenance or service costs. The effort should be minimal. The bulk material is partially dusty and has a low DK value.

Our Solution

In the storage silos for PVC powder electromechanical tape lead systems Nivobob NB4200 are used. The integrated tape cleaner ensures a clean case when dust is attached to the tape. The sensor is almost maintenance-free with 500,000 measuring cycles. Neither dust, low DK values, high humidity nor changing bulk materials can affect the sensor. In addition, it is very favorable compared to other measuring principles. It also does not entail any maintenance and service costs and requires minimal effort during commissioning.

The challenge

A global provider of polymer solutions in Portugal dedicated in the production of thermoplastic and crosslinked compounds needed a solution for a vibration hopper, which receives PP and PE material to be sifted by vibration. In order to detect the light material they tried many sensors with vibration principle, but the vibration of the hopper was always the critical point in this application, in all cases the electronics of units was destroyed after some months.

Our solution

Our Vibranivo Serie 2000 was the best solution, after some month the customer was satisfyed with the performance and durability. It was as standard short version VN2020, it could resist to the hopper vibration. Due to its robust construction of the potted electronic module.

The Challenge

A customer in Portugal had a project where the levels of 21 storage silos with raw material for plastic products has to be monitored by the suppliers. The silos needs also an protection against overfilling.

 

 

Our Solution

The complete project is done with the electromechanic sensors Nivobob NB 4200 and Rotonivo RN3002. The Nivobob NB4200 with modbus RTU interface measures continuously the level of the synthetics independent of density and DK value. The silo alarm full detectors Rotonivo RN3002 with rope extension protects against overfilling. The extension can be set quite flexible to the right length and switching point. Both sensors are allrounder in the synthetic industry and can be used in all granulars and powders. They are cost effective and easy to setup. The monitoring and control is done with the visualisation Nivotec NT3500. The hardware is a Wago webcontroller with Modbus RTU interface, which communicates with the sensors and gives all datas which are needed to monitor the levels and the demand. Remote access via internet and level informations per e-mail can be done very comfortable.
